Music Educators

— RSVP Date extended to April 25 —

Thank you for your work as music educators, teaching students the wonders of music appreciation and performance!

There is an opportunity for your most proficient students to attend the National Convention of the Association of Community Bands.

The Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque community bands have “banded” together as the New Mexico Association of Community Bands Consortium (NMACBC) to host this year’s ACB National Convention, on May 3-8 (Tuesday through Sunday), at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Santa Fe. We’d like to offer free admission to clinics and concerts as a gift to selected students and an adult chaperone (teacher, parent, or guardian).

Our local planning committee has secured funding to cover the cost of including middle and high school youth in ACB clinics covering oboe, flute, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, trombone, conducting, as well as a performance workshop with the world-renowned Canadian Brass! There are also 10 FREE public concerts featuring performing bands from several states.

We are especially excited to present Canadian Brass in concert on Friday evening at Santa Fe’s Lensic Performing Arts Center in downtown Santa Fe. A limited number of tickets for this concert are available to selected students and their chaperones. Additional tickets may be obtained via the Lensic website.

Below please find the Convention Schedule and the information that we’ll need for welcoming the students and their adult companions. You may reply by emailing the RSVP form below, to by April 25.

Please know that this offer of a perhaps once-in-a-lifetime opportunity does not include NMACBC transportation or supervision of attending students. NMACBC requires all students to be supervised at the clinics and convention concerts to a ratio of at least 1 adult for every 10 students.

Additionally, NMACBC requires all Convention attendees to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at registration.

To allow NMACBC to plan the details of this exciting offering, please RSVP by Wednesday April 25, by filling out the form below with a list of students planning to attend. For each student, please include name, school grade, and instrument. Acceptance notices will go out on April 29, 2022, by email.

Feel free to pass along any of this information to students and parents and/or guardians. And please let us know if you have questions about this cool opportunity at!
